To: Prime Time in Kanata Volunteers, Clients and Community Partners
The COVOD-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the ability of our church to deliver Prime Time in Kanata services to seniors in our community. The universities and colleges with whom we partner can no longer provide students for field practicums, resulting in a decrease in our number of available life coaches; retirement homes and care facilities can no longer allow us access to their clients; a large number of community partners have either shut down or cannot refer seniors to us at this time; and our ability to provide the necessary financial support is currently under stress as we have closed our church to all activities and functions. Above all, this has impacted our ability to apply for and receive vital funding for the ongoing operations of the program. Therefore, it is with great regret that we have decided to close the Prime Time in Kanata program.
We are sorry that the program has come to a sudden and premature end. We wish we could have done more to support the well-being of seniors in our community, but we have learned much and established many valuable contacts within our community.
We want to thank all of our students, volunteers, community agencies, businesses, granting organizations and, of course, our congregation who have supported Prime Time in its planning, development and operation.
